Covenant House (Youth Shelter)

What

Healing Wings Foundation through the 2021 Community Care Campaign, raised $4,000 for Covenant House and Fontbonne Ministries.

Covenant House Toronto, is one of the largest agencies in Canada serving youth who are homeless, trafficked, or at risk. Fontbonne Ministries’ Mustard Seed facility in south Toronto offers a nourished environment and safe space for social connection, creativity, wellness, spiritual enrichment, food access, and to development of life skills.

All the funds were used to purchase immediate needs for both shelters and included essential items from Clothing (clothing and shoes), Baby products (diapers, baby formula), Household Goods (plates, cleaning supplies), gift cards to grocery stores, and most importantly, Electronics (laptop, electronic accessories)  to support youth’s educational programs as well as the ability to conduct telehealth visits.

When

Why this is important

Through the above donations, Healing Wings Foundation proudly completed the missions set out in 2021 in supporting a total of eight (8) Women’s, Men’s and Youth shelters across the GTA area through donations and program building. Throughout this journey, the level of engagement from the communities, shelter staff and residents, as well as  Healing Wings donors is unprecedented. Beyond physician goods, the focus on program development is at the center of all parties’ core discussions.

As we step out of, hopefully, the end of the pandemic era, the Healing Wings Foundation will continue to expand and strengthen community partnerships in Q4 2021, with the mutual mission to jointly foster an environment for any person in need of help to grow and where self-worth, dignity, healing, wholeness, and spirituality can flourish.
